What my class is like: Eclectic, encouraging, and challenging. A yoga class is successful in that you, the student, get something out of it! I’ll always ask what you’d like to work on and my goal is to create thoughtful sequences that not only explore unique poses, but make you feel good too. Expect to begin class with an introspective meditation, followed by a flowing sequence of asanas or poses that prepare you for a culminating pose that strengthens your body, improves flexibility, and releases tension. Class will always end with a few quiet moments to recharge and reset.
Off the mat: I am reading, writing, hiking, hanging with my cat (who would rather not hang with me), and brainstorming my next meal.
Favorite Pose: Wild Thing or Camatkarasana because it’s the perfect balance of strength, vulnerably, and playfulness!
Favorite mantra or quote: Be easy. Take your time. You are coming home to yourself. – Nayyirah Waheed
Currently on my playlist: The Lumineers, Trevor Hall, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Iron & Wine, Goldmund, Ólafur Arnalds, Garth Stevenson, Dr. Toast, Bruce Springsteen, and Bob Dylan.
